Frequently Asked Questions
You need to meet these requirements to receive a VMC or mark certificate:
- Published DMARC record at enforcement
- Published BIMI record
- Published logo in .svg format
- Logo as a registered trademark or government seal (VMC only)
Each unique logo will need its own certificate. For brands with only one logo, you need just one certificate for multiple sending domains. Brands with multiple logos need a certificate for each, regardless of the number of sending domains.
VMCs require several additional identity validation steps after you've published DMARC at enforcement and your BIMI record. How long this process takes will vary, but once we’ve verified all necessary documentation, your certificate will typically be issued the same day.
BIMI/mark certificates are currently supported by these providers:
- Google/Gmail (enhanced support, blue checkmark)
- Apple (Digitally certified label in message details)
- Yahoo
- Fastmail
- Cloudmark
- La Poste
- One
- Zone
The maximum validity period for a VMC is 397 days. With a DigiCert subscription, you’ll get a notification when it’s time to renew and automatically issue a valid certificate prior to certificate expiration.
