John is responsible for GeoTrust's engineering, product management and network operations groups. Before joining the Company, Adams was Chief Technology Officer at Tovaris, a provider of secure mail gateways. Prior to Tovaris, he was a consultant at Curl Corporation, developer of Internet content language that improves the responsiveness of Web applications.
Before Curl, John was Chief Technology Officer of RSA Security. He had previously been Senior Vice President of engineering at Security Dynamics and, following that company's acquisition of RSA Data Security, managed engineering for both companies until the merger was completed and RSA Security was formed.
Prior to joining Security Dynamics, John was with Digital Equipment Corp. for 20 years, primarily in network engineering, where he was instrumental in formulating and executing Digital's networking strategy during the 1980s and 1990s.
John graduated from Harvard with an A.B. in mathematics. He also holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from Tufts University and a Ph.D. from MIT, all in civil engineering.
